2 steps again to speed up Windows 7 updates – Computerworld.nl

Check for updates in Windows 7 should last no more than a few minutes, even if you have a slow connection. But we see several months checks that take hours, sometimes many hours. The machine becomes so slow that he is useless and sometimes all day long remain so. Luckily found the German site wu.krelay.de a simple solution

.

Update woes in 2016

Microsoft has released a number of patches that increase the speed, but they have some problems – like they even work. A visitor to my site AskWoody discovered in April, an unexpected combination of two patches (one for Windows Update and security for graphics) which noticeably increased the speed. But mid-May did not more, and the update scan of Windows 7 went from just tolerating to anger-inducing.

In May Microsoft KB 3153199 gave out, another security patch which, in combination with KB 3138612 for ensured that Windows Update was tolerable again. But that did not last long. In June, the software maker came with the merged patch KB 3161608 which worked, but to provide a speed improvement you had to install six unrelated patches.

It starts again

In July, Microsoft pulled it merged patch again and replaced it with the patch KB 3172605. That was another unchecked, optional update that was not delivered automatically. The documentation was poor, but it seems that the patch contained six unrelated patches and has a known issue with out popping Intel Bluetooth connections.

This week the weather Patch Tuesday and it seems that we go with this problem on the go. Enough is enough. German blogger Dalai teaching us from March all the way with the updates. I Dalai promised that I would narrow down the steps to a simple guide and with the help of AskWoody poster CH100 EP and this is the result:

The links that are here are joined for Windows 7. If you Vista and use Windows 8.1, I refer you to wu.krelay.de for details

. Step 1: Install KB 3078601, 3109094, 3138612, 3145739 and 3164033

you need but to do once. To know if you miss a few, you can look in the list of installed updates (Start & gt; Control Panel & gt; Windows Update). But it is probably easier to download them all and just to install. If you already installed one, do you hear that self installer

Step 1a:. Make sure you know whether your 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) version of Windows 7 are running. If you are unsure, click Start, you right-click “Computer”, choose Properties, and you’ll see at “System type” which version you

Step 1b. Use a browser to retrieve each patch (in an MSU file):

KB 3078601 x64 x32

KB 3109094 x64 x32

KB 3138612 x64 x32
