Install Android 7.0 Nougat

Android SDK

It is possible to download the so-called “factory image” of Android 7.0 Nougat using your computer and on top of you software “flashing”. There are some things you will need. You must first install a part of the official Android SDK on your computer. The software can be free from the Android Studio download portal:

  1. Go to the Android Studio website
  2. Scroll down
  3. Find the command line tools for your platform – Windows, Mac or Linux
  4. Extract the file

USB Debugging

After downloading the software we must ensure your Nexus smartphone is ready. First we need to turn USB Debugging. We then unlock your bootloader.

  1. Go to your Nexus
  2. Settings Scroll About This phone / tablet
  3. Press seven times the build number, until you get the message that you’re a developer, you
  4. Open your settings and navigate to a new option called Develop Laar Options
  5. Press Enable OEM unlock
  6. Connect your Nexus smartphone with your computer
  7. Press the OK button on your smartphone when you are asked whether you want to allow USB debugging

Bootloader unlock

Now we will unlock your bootloader. Think carefully before going any further, because you lose all your apps and personal data when you do this. In other words: your smartphone will be put back to factory settings. so make sure you get the data you want to keep saving somewhere else!

  1. Put your Nexus device from
  2. Press the power button and volume down
  3. button simultaneously

  4. Type the following on your Nexus smartphone or tablet: “./fastboot flashing unlock”
  5. simultaneously press the volume up button and the power button to confirm the bootloader unlock
  6. now type the following on your Nexus device, “./fastboot reboot”

now your bootloader geunlockt and you’re ready for the final step: flashing Android 7.0 nougat.

  1. Go to the Nexus Factory Images
  2. Scroll to your smartphone and download the corresponding Android 7.0 image
  3. unzip the file and place it in your platform tools folder.
  4. Open the Command Prompt (Windows) or Terminal (Mac)
  5. Type “./adb devices” to make sure your computer you device recognizes
  6. Enter the flash-all command. On Windows: “Flash all.bat” on Mac: “flash-all.sh”
