The market share of Windows 10 is still growing, but at a much lower pace than at launch in August
.
According to NetMarketShare Windows 10 has now a market share of 7.94 percent. Before that measures the proportion of web traffic generated by the various desktop operating systems.
In the first month after the launch 10 Windows gained a market share of 5.21 percent. That was in September, 1.42 percentage point and 1.31 percentage point in October.
For Windows 7 and 8 is the upgrade in the first year. They are now encouraged to move with popups which the upgrade is considered “optional”. That will change in a few months ‘recommended’, Microsoft has announced.
However, many users still seem reluctant to update. Past experience with the failed Windows 8 is undoubtedly to blame.
