I t is Friday exactly 201 years ago that the Belgian inventor Adolphe Sax was born. Google reflects on the birthday of the inventor of the saxophone with a special logo, called a Google Doodle.
Adolphe Sax was born on November 6th, 1814 in Dinant in Wallonia. His father, Charles-Joseph Sax, was an instrument maker who became famous because of some important changes that he put the horn. Learning from his father, who was the boss of a wind plant in Brussels, Adolphe Sax began at an early age to build instruments.
After school Sax began to experiment with building new designs for instruments. His first invention was a significant improvement of the design of the bass clarinet. At twenty Adolphe Sax received a patent for this invention.
Sax moved to Paris in 1841 and here is designing a series of new instruments, including the Saxhorn based on the bugle. His most important invention he did in this period: the saxophone. In 1842 wrote the famous composer Hector Berlioz already praised this invention, but Sax asked only in 1846 patented the instrument that was named for him.
The Google Doodle in honor of the Belgian musical contains images of a music-Adolphe Sax. There are some pictures in the Doodle (which you see when you refresh the page)
