Microsoft dismisses 2100 employees – Telegraaf.nl

REDMOND –

Microsoft Thursday, 2100 people laid off, reports ZDNet. It is the second wave of redundancies after the Internet giant announced last July that it would end

the employment of a total of 18,000 employees.

After the announcement in July, 13,000 people were laid off almost immediately. Along with the 2100 on Thursday, so there are more than 15,000 people away from Microsoft. And that also means that another 3,000 employees the same fate awaits.

Microsoft was forced to reduce the number of employees following the acquisition of Nokia in April last year. The Redmond company personnel could otherwise not afford the tens of thousands of new employees, the purchase of Nokia entailed, over time
