Not Windows 9, but Windows 10 is the name of Microsoft’s new operating system. Many things are different in the OS. We put the 5 most important changes in Windows 10 under another.
1. Start Menu
The start menu is finally back, to the relief of millions of users of Windows 8 There are some changes added:
– The start menu get widgets on the spot where in Windows 7 have My Documents and the Panel were . These widgets are interactive tiles that show for example news or your latest messages on Skype.
- You can still search by typing in the start menu, and just like before you find documents and programs
.
- But you’re looking for right now on the web for content. It is not clear whether that necessarily with Microsoft’s Bing search engine needs, but most likely you do change it to Google.
2. Desktop vs. Mobile
Windows 10, according to one Microsoft operating system for both PCs and laptops as well as tablets and phones. How the mobile category will look like, was launched during the presentation in the middle, but it is clear that there is a distinction between the traditional desktop environment and the tile environment in Windows 8 was introduced. The latter is only available on mobile devices.
For hybrid devices like the Surface Pro 3 is a mix available that uses both environments.
3. Task view
‘Task View’ (a Dutch name is not yet known) is a new function that you can call on the taskbar. You get to see what you can see. All running apps / programs a screen at one time
Task View also makes it possible to make so you can multitask better. Multiple desktops That is for example easy for users of dual screens, but also for people who often switch back and forth between work and personal desktop.
4. Multi-tasking
It is possible to run programs in a small window, and thus to be used side by side. That’s easy to multitask, so you do not have back and forth between apps to go.
This possibility is particularly useful for users of the tile area. With Windows 8, it was in fact only possible to turn what multitasking was impractical. In fullscreen apps
5. Command prompt
For power users there is also some tinkering under the hood, and especially the scandalous old command screen. The cmd.exe, which is the same since Windows 95, Windows 10 gets a much needed update that hobbyists will make you happy. Outside the necessary design changes (cmd.exe shows the text resizing to show instead of those ugly scroll bar of the screen), you can now finally select text in the terminal. And perhaps the finest of everything? You can finally use CTRL + V to paste text.
