Microsoft removes another 2,100 jobs – ZDNet.be

In the second round of an overall plan in which 18,000 jobs will be killed, Microsoft has given people renewed their 2100 C4.

According to a company spokesperson, it is about 747 people at Microsoft in Washington State. The rest of the layoffs are distributed worldwide. Various departments and divisions will have to do. Less staff

In July let Microsoft know already that there are some 18,000 jobs will be killed with the company. Well 12,500 of them are employees within Microsoft took on the acquisition of the mobile division of Nokia.

Microsoft had 13,000 people go in the first round of redundancies in July. It had a lot of Nokia employees involved, but not all. Other divisions were then taken. Microsoft also wants to reduce its dependence on employees who do not work full time. Nearly one in five of them would have to look for a new job.

Termination benefits
Around mid-July, Microsoft had a total of 125,000 people on its payroll, including the 25,000 who came over from Nokia. The layoffs would be the company’s next four quarters cost around 1.1 to 1.6 billion dollars in severance pay and compensation. With 13,000 layoffs in July 2100 and now, there are still 2,900 jobs that will be by July 2015.
