Five million Gmail accounts on the street – ZDNet.be

Hackers have managed to obtain on more than five million – mostly Russian, English and Spanish – Gmail accounts and passwords and user names leaked on the internet. This reports the Russian news agency Itar-Tass.

A Google spokesman has told Russian news agency stated that it is investigating how the hackers were able to obtain the information. For now, it seems that there is no leak in the system from Google itself was abused, but that the account information obtained through other websites.

The leak of Gmail accounts is the third Russian leak in one week.
