A fourteen-meter-long steel cylinder at the bottom of the Atlantic, it probably does not immediately think of the universe. Yet it is the place where Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen currently resides in preparation for future space missions. The next few days, he is the leader of a team of four that some “space walks” will perform – on the seabed so.

writes CTV News. Hansen on 7 September revoked his temporary stay and will stay there in seven days. The cylinder is called Aquarius Reef Base, is located in Key Largo, one of the islands in Florida. The accommodation is maintained by the Florida International University. Both the weightlessness as the delay in the simulated communication that occur with a stay in space. With the stay on the sea floor

NASA astronaut Randy Bresnik and two aquanauts ESA accompany Hansen during his stay on the seabed. The Aquarius Reef Base has a hole in the floor so the people can get out. The air pressure ensures that no water flows into the residence. Leave once a day, the four cylinder for a spacewalk. “

The 38-year-old Hansen has previously flown CF-18 fighter planes, craters explored in the Arctic, and lived in deep caves. About his latest adventureastro_jeremy excited twittering and Vine movies making.

Space Mission or not, Hansen rejoiced in advance especially seeing marine life. “For me it is like a big aquarium.”
