According to Pedro Peters, CEO of RET, the Smart-OV is a logical continuation of the public transport chip card, which is mandatory since 2008 in the Rotterdam metro. “Now we find public transport smartcard actually been superseded.”
Vodafone Smart-OV integrates into its Wallet app, which now credit and store cards can be stored.

The Nexus 6P is the first Nexus device made in China . The fast-growing Huawei made the all-metal device that Google is promoting its latest Android version. The device has the latest software features, but also the hardware specifications may be there
.
Appearance
The first thing you notice about the Nexus 6P is that the device is large and mostly very long because the side edges are kept narrow. The screen is also 5.7 inches tall. Huawei has managed to keep the unit quite thin. The aluminum housing provides a chic look and the whole is nicely finished. The most notable details are located at the back. The camera and flash are hidden in a shiny black bar that is slightly thicker than the rest of the housing. Below is the fingerprint scanner. The back may seem like a strange place for such a scanner, but in practice it works fine. The scanner is in the right place, if you pick up the phone, is your finger almost automatically. A little less convenient is the placement of the on / off button and volume buttons. These are very close to each other.
Hardware
The 5.7 inch AMOLED screen has a resolution of 2560 by 1440 pixels. This produces a sharp and clear picture. The device runs on a 2.0 Ghz Snapdragon 810 processor with eight cores. When combined with 3GB of RAM this makes for a very powerful device. The available storage is a minimum of 32 GB, a possibility to expand it via microSD missing.
Charging is done via the new USB-C standard which allows for faster charging. The USB-c-port is located at the bottom of the unit. C advantage of USB is that the plug and port are symmetrical so you plug the wrong way can put into the port. It is a new standard and it means that with microUSB cables can not be connected to the device. Huawei does provide an adapter with usb c to standard USB so you can charge him via a standard USB connector and can connect it to the computer.
The battery has a capacity of 3450 mAh and is pretty. Even with intensive use doin certainly bring a day.
Camera
The Nexus 6P has a 12.3 megapixel camera at the rear and an 8 megapixel copy on the front. Now the number of megapixels does not say anything about the quality of the photos, but the other camera specifications are fine. Both outside and inside is the quality of shot pictures fine and the colors are quite natural. The camera can focus quickly because the autofocus with a laser determines where his objects.
With the camera on the back can be recorded videos in 4K. By default, however, the unit is set to Full HD quality. Also can be slow motion videos with 120 or 240 frames per second at 720p resolution. The camera on the front can not slow-motion images. The maximum resolution is 1080p.
Programs
Nexus devices run on the latest Android version. They are distinguished from other Android devices because there is no additional software shell of the manufacturer is over. Personally, I think such a bare Android version very pleasant, because you will not face eight handy with junk by the manufacturer. In the Play Store you can then download additional applications yourself.
The latest Android version, 6.0, Marshmallow, offers a number of minor improvements over its predecessor. Thus Doze feature ensures that a device is automatically put into sleep mode when not in use and also the App Standby saves battery power by reducing the power consumption of little-used apps.
Marshmallow also provides the ability to specify in an app which functions to have such access. The feature App Rights makes it possible to give apps per device component permission to use it. When installing an app you get therefore no long laundry list with more permissions. An app like WhatsApp for example, will only requesting access to the camera when you first want to take a photo and send it.
One of the most striking innovations is Now on Tap, an extension of Google Now. By pressing and holding the Home button in an app, the system analyzes the screen and displays relevant information from what you see. For example, when you read an article about a film, Now on Tap ensures that you get extra information about the film, for example from film database IMDB, or that you get to see what turns around the film. Unfortunately, the feature works only when the system language is English. It is not known yet when it comes in Dutch available.
Pricing and similar devices
The Nexus 6P is available from € 650 (32GB) and that’s pretty pricey for an Android device. The Nexus 5X (€ 479) is slightly less powerful specs and a slightly smaller 5.2 inch screen. This device, however, runs on the latest Android version. A number of existing devices already announced that they will soon receive an update to Marshmallow, which applies to include the HTC One M9 (€ 500) and the Sony Xperia Z5 (€ 600).
The Samsung Galaxy S6 edge + (€ 680) Like the 6P a 5.7 inch screen. Same size screen of the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL (€ 650), which runs on Windows 10 Mobile. The iPhone 6 plus has a 5.5 inch screen and a price starting at € 800 (16GB).
Conclusion
With the Nexus line Google wants to show what’s possible with its latest operating system. With the new Nexus 6P succeeds so well in there. Huawei has a good first Nexus device delivered where actually very little on is to be regarded. The unit is large and you have to love. However, the appearance is anything but clumsy, thanks to the aluminum shell and the narrow ledges on the side. With the Nexus 6P you have a good phone in hands and the certainty that you are the first to receive new Android updates

The Nexus 6P is an excellent Android phone which belongs to the top of the market. The design is fine, the screen very nice and the software experience well, while the phone has no major negatives.
Pros
Fingerprint Scanner
Very nice screen
Clean software with fast updates
Good camera, also on the front
Cons
Memory not expandable
Battery on a tight
Google released this year not one but two Nexus phones on the market. The Nexus 6P, made by Huawei, is the best of two units. In this review we see how good he really is.
“This great ‘superphone’ should show what Android’s capable of”
The Nexus 6P take over the baton of the Nexus 6, which last year for the first time brought to the spec Nexus line. This phablet is a great ‘superphone’ that should show what Android is capable of directly and thus enters the competition with devices like the iPhone and Samsung Galaxy S6 Plus 6s + Edge. So it’s the Nexus phone for people who really want to make the most of their smartphone, while the Nexus 5X focuses more on mass market
That you see reflected in the price of the Nexus 6P:. Which is € 649 not small. Fortunately, you can see that back in the specifications of the device. He is with its 5.7-inch qHD display, Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB RAM and 12.3-megapixel camera well equipped. The storage space is unfortunately still not expandable, but the basic variant has obtained at least acceptable 32GB storage and there are also versions with 64GB or 128GB of space.
“For Huawei, the Nexus 6P a new step in its development “
For Huawei, the Nexus 6P a new step in its development. LG grabbed making the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 very good: the brand among many consumers in prestige and also sold a hefty amount Nexus 5′s. Huawei undoubtedly hoping for a similar effect and let the Nexus 6P see that it belongs to the big boys of the smartphone market. Huawei also committed to the Nexus 6P another step up in the market. To date were the specifications of Huawei smartphones always just below what the top of the market, but for the Nexus 6P does that anymore. Probably we will see that in the future more Huawei devices.
Like the Nexus 5X, the Nexus 6P is an introduction device from Android 6.0 Marshmallow. When taking the device full advantage of new hardware support that Android Version: on the back shines a fingerprint scanner and the bottom is a new USB-C port
The Nexus 6P is short, an interesting smartphone that even one. throw does the title of best Android phone to date. In this review we look out whether the Nexus 6P know until that lead to kick.

Unboxing
The case of the Nexus 6P looks neat. In addition to the phone you can find one pair USB cable and a charger. That means no headset is available, we find that a pity. Two USB cables are different: it is a USB-C to a USB cable and a USB to USB c c cable. That’s handy, because if you can connect the device right on your PC and you’re already up to date with a USB c to USB c cable.
Design
“The aluminum body gives the handset a premium feel”
The Nexus 6P design is in line with expectations for a phone that is made by Huawei, but it clearly differs from the devices sold under the Huawei brand. The aluminum body of the Nexus is more rounded than what we know from Huawei and got stereo speakers on the front.
The aluminum body of the Nexus 6P shows the high-quality look befitting a high-endtelefoon and feels solid. The finish is clean, with nice touches like the texture on the power button, sharpened edges and nearly seamless connection of the front glass on the aluminum sides. However, the build quality seems to have some problems: the Nexus 6P would be easy to bend, and the glass plate on the back sometimes appears spontaneously breaking. Both problems we can to confirm the basis of our experience with the device nor deny, but generally do these things often turn out better than expected. If you purchase a Nexus 6P and suffer from any of these problems, you can make the best even with going back.
With its 5.7-inch screen, the Nexus 6P naturally on the large side. Fortunately, the screen edges are not too large and the device to handle reasonably well. The thickness of the device, 7.3 millimeter, is neat. That helps the phone to come across quite elegant despite its size and not really feel great to
There are four colors of the Nexus 6P:. Gray, silver, gold and white. The gold version we have is not yet available in the Netherlands; The three other variants are. In all cases, the color refers to the aluminum casing of the device and not on the glass components.
“The fingerprint scanner works excellently”
The Nexus 6P has been simtray are left with a memory card and can not handle. On top is an audio jack and the bottom we find the USB port c. The volume and power button sit right where the power button is relatively high and above the volume key. We think that’s awkward, but fortunately, the presence of the fingerprint scanner on the back you have the power button is not often have to use.
That fingerprint scanner works excellently. The placement at roughly two-thirds of the back makes it easy to achieve with your finger. Which finger is quickly and accurately recognize and you do not need to do to start the recognition. So if you lies your finger on the scanner while the device picks up, he unlocked directly if you have it in front of you.
Screen
Huawei and Google elected in the Nexus 6P for a amoledscherm and do that is not without merit. The 5.7 inch screen has a quad HD resolution and looks very good. Naturally, the display extremely sharp, but apart from that there is little to criticize. The contrast is high, its beautiful colors and brightness sufficient. The only point where something to be desired is the white balance: it is a bit yellowish. We also miss against his best rivals what functions: you can change the color profile yourself and no special sunlight mode is present. These are small flaws, but despite the display of the Nexus 6P among the best on the market.
Performance
“The performance of the device are very good “
Like most high-endtelefoons of this year, the Nexus 6P using the controversial Snapdragon 810 processor. This achtkernige 64bit chipset has quite a history of overheating, which smartphones are temporarily slow down or even shut processes. When the Nexus 6P we have had very little affected by this problem. Under load it is a bit warmer and the performance is not optimal, but it takes no problematic proportions.
This means that the performance of the device are very good. He is less powerful than the top smartphones from Samsung at this time, but your brand in practice actually not so much. Partly because of the clean Android Build fly the menus on the screen and the Nexus 6P has no trouble launching applications. The device has 3GB of memory, which is ample
Unfortunately, the stability of the aircraft deal less. Different applications crashed regularly on the phone. It must be said that it’s all about third party apps; it could be that they simply have not been properly optimized for Marshmallow. Incidentally we did with the Nexus 5X and HTC One A9, also both devices with Marshmallow it, not affected by this problem.
“If you charge a lot Nexus he cites the end of the day often just “
At the network level makes the Nexus 6P what you can expect. NFC, 4G, wifi ac; it’s all there. The reception and call quality of the smartphone are correct.
Huawei has this Nexus comes with a 3450mAh battery. Ample would say, but it is a bit disappointing. If you charge the Nexus significantly he brings the end of the day, often only just. With automatic brightness at the highest level we get a screen-on time of around 3.5 hours.
The battery performance of the Nexus 6P are not particularly good, but fortunately you device or fast charging. The included USB charger c ensures that the device in about a half hour again full. Provided you have the cable with you, because you do not currently expect that you can borrow one at any place.
Software
Google introduced with this generation Nexus Phones Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The Nexus 6P is equipped with the Android Variant and will be provisionally all Android updates quickly fitted. For more information about Android Marshmallow you can go to our review. Below we will briefly discuss the highlights of Android Marshmallow.
The interface of Marshmallow has not really changed compared Lollipop, except that the menu now scrolls vertically. At the top of the menu is four apps; phone devises based on what is relevant to you what they are. One feature that sounds nice but we never actually used in practice. Now you can from the homescreen always “okay Google” say to start a speech voice search. Google Now is easy to find by swiping to the right from the homescreen.
Google Now also got a handy new feature, called Now on Tap. It lets you easily get additional information on the things that are currently displayed. Pressing the home button is Google Now directly in front of you to work. Unfortunately, that feature is not yet available in the Netherlands and can you use only when you make your system language is set to English. Other new features in Marshmallow have to do with managing apps. Now ask first for permission if they need information from your phone and you can tell by data source or the app may or may not use.
The applications that Google default Nexus has 6P are predictable. All the Google apps are available and there is also a set of simple tools. Think of a calculator, a clock, and an overview of all your downloads. The only thing we lack is a file manager, but fortunately you can easily download from the Play Store. There you can also find other apps, noting that there is a wide range available.
Multimedia
“The Nexus 6P has stereo speakers that sound full and can be quite hard “
The multimedia software on the Nexus 6P is reasonably straightforward. The standard Google programs we know of each Android phone be present; that’s it. That means you have access to Play Music, Play Movies and Google Photos. All neat and orderly programs with extensive integration of Google’s own cloud services. Unfortunately, the smartphone does not include a FM radio.
Unlike the Nexus 5X, working with the Nexus 6P or both speakers at the front of the multimedia playback. That gives stereo that sounds fuller and harder can. The Nexus 6P scores thus not as good as the handsets from HTC with Boom Sound speakers, but is certainly at the top of the smartphone market with its speakers. Through a headset sounds smartphone we feel just a little less than many competitors, but there is definitely live with. However, we regret that few institutions are available with regard to the sound. Stereo Widening, EQ, virtual surround sound; it lacks all.
“To the picture quality you do definitely not leave this unit”
The camera software on the Nexus 6P on are highly inadequate. Although the interface is not working badly, it is all very very limited. You can set the resolution, turn on a timer and operate the flash and HDR mode. There the options or less over. For many ‘casual’ smartphone photographers that might be enough, but if you have even a little control over your pictures would you just need to find yourself looking for a good piece of camera software. The nice thing is that Android offers that possibility from the Play Store. The software is generally fast enough, although the time between two photos is pretty big. The device features laser autofocus and it is quite fast.
To complete the picture quality you have to let the Nexus 6P certainly do not lie. The smartphone has a fairly large 12.3-megapixel sensor that allows pretty detailed photos. The colors are beautiful, just the white balance appears still sometimes go wrong. A major advantage of this camera is that, despite the lack of optical image stabilization, relatively good shooting in the dark. Pictures are still evident in lower light, and are not moved quickly. The camera has suffered a bit of distortion in the corners of the photo. But overall we are very pleased with the camera of the Nexus 6P.
Huawei is the pioneer of good selfiecamera and it also comes on the Nexus 6P forward. The smartphone has an 8-megapixel camera on the front that reasonably detailed and sharp selfies shoots. In that area he scores above average.
Filming can the Nexus 6P up to 4K resolution. Unlike the pictures, you do notice when filming that this smartphone has no optical image stabilization. The videos are not super choppy, but it could definitely have been better. Separately, the videos are pretty good, with lots of details and beautiful colors.
Conclusion
The Nexus 6P is one of the best Android phones right now and actually know very few real drawbacks. It is unfortunate that the storage is not expandable, but the relatively large standard storage of 32GB ease the pain a bit. Further, the battery shorter than we had hoped, but unfortunately we see in most smartphones today. It makes the Nexus 6P so not much worse than its competitors. An FM radio we would have liked on the Nexus, but we can certainly live with that he was not sitting there.
“This phone actually has very few real drawbacks”
Clear positives are there other hand, this Nexus. The device has a very nice screen, a nice software experience and a good camera. The case is about luxury and has a good fingerprint scanner that makes it very easy to protect your device properly. With features like USB c and Android Marshmallow is the smartphone delicious up-to-date and being a Nexus you temporarily provide rapid updates.
The Nexus 6P is overall a major step forward for Huawei and the Nexus program when we look at pure quality. There, you’ll pay for: € 649 with his unit for a Nexus device is quite pricey. That you can pity, but in our view it is that money anyway pounding pound.
Those looking for an alternative to the Nexus 6P can best contact the Samsung Galaxy S6 + Edge. An excellent phablet which scores just a little better in some areas than the Nexus. Another important alternative to Android on the Xperia Z5 Premium, which stands out with its 4K display. Who is not tied to Android, may also contact the Apple iPhone 6s Plus.
If you want a cheaper alternative, you can find the best LG G4. A smartphone which in many ways other than the camera, scores slightly worse than the Nexus 6P but with which you can save € 200 versus the Nexus. Smaller Nexus 5X is a good option that delivers a number of areas which in and has a smaller screen, but offers the same Nexus experience as the 6P
The Nexus 6P is an excellent Android phone which belongs to the top of the market. The design is fine, the screen very nice and the software experience well, while the phone has no major negatives.

Li-Fi, high-speed alternative to wifi that works via LED light, has finally left the research lab and was first tested in the real world. Estonian start-up Velmenni has deployed the technology successfully for several pilot projects in Tallinn, capital of Estonia.
“Currently, we have designed a solution for industrial environments where data communication is via light. We are also doing a pilot project with a private customer, where we set up a Li-Fi network to connect to their office to the Internet, “says CEO Deepak Solanki to IBTimes.
Browsing the light
The Li-Fi technology uses visible LED light to transmit data at speeds much higher than what is possible today via your Wi-Fi network. Velmenni knew in his pilot tests already achieving speeds up to 1 Gbps, about 100 times faster than WiFi, but the potential of Li-Fi is much higher. Researchers were already achieving speeds of up to 224 gigabits per second in laboratory tests.
The technology was developed in 2011 by Professor Harald Haas of the University of Edinburgh, and uses LEDs that are a thousand times a second input and off. To the human eye which flicker is not noticeable, but by adjusting the length of the light pulses, messages can be sent.
In order to maintain a Li-Fi connection, transmitter and receiver must at all times be able to directly observe each other’s light pulses. That makes the technology more secure than WiFi, but also immediately shows the greatest disadvantage. Li-Fi can not through walls and wifi or 4G will never be able to replace all.
No substitute
The technologies may well be a good complement to each other. Li-Fi takes the pressure off the already overloaded radio spectrum and can be useful as a quick and energy-efficient solution for the Internet of Things, which is currently hard at the break.
If the pilots positive printouts, Velmenni than expected Li-Fi networks already in three or four years can be rolled out to consumers. The greatest challenge here is to adapt the existing infrastructure to the technology. “It is extremely difficult to create a completely new infrastructure for Li-Fi,” said Solanki. “We need to integrate the technology in some way in the existing system.”
According to Professor Harald Haas, any LED light in the future may be as user-speed alternative to wifi. “In the future we will not only have 14 billion light bulbs, we will have rolled out worldwide perhaps 14 billion Li-Fis for a cleaner, greener and brighter future.”
In November 1915 Albert Einstein presented some new ideas to the Prussian Academy of Sciences in Göttingen. On December 2, he published his equations now known as general relativity, an extension of his theory of relativity of space and time he had already formulated a decade earlier.
The stunning of Einstein’s thinking is it is in retrospect as clear and insurmountable. Based on simple assumptions and based on …
