Europol, the FBI and various European police units have a huge botnet taken offline. The network, Avalanche called, consisted of 500,000 infected computers and was a time from the Netherlands to be controlled. Computer criminals used the network to more than twenty types of malicious software to spread. Through the botnet were bank accounts plundered.
The German police began four years ago with an investigation of the network after a large number of computers in Germany was infected. Detectives discovered that the malicious computer programs from servers in the Netherlands commands were given. Yesterday, those servers by the Dutch police offline.
The botnet has in 180 countries of victims. What the exact damage is to know the Europol convention, but only in Germany was 6 million euro.
Five people have been arrested for the botnet. The Dutch police are doing investigation to Dutch suspects and to ‘geldezels’, people who have their bank account available to criminals that are on which accounts money to be able to receive and send.
