Two well-known spammers and a group that deals with espionage have the hacked data from Yahoo bought. That says an internet expert at The New York Times. Earlier this week, Yahoo announced that the data of more than one billion users were stolen.
The data three years ago already disappeared, but emerged only recently. The data include names, birth dates, telephone numbers, passwords, security questions and e-mail addresses. The data were poorly encrypted, and therefore relatively easy to decipher.
The data are valuable for cybercriminals, because they are with the combination of e-mail addresses, passwords and security questions also on other e-mail accounts can log in. As far as is known have three parties, the complete set of data purchased for 300,000 dollars a piece.
