Sony has started rolling out Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow to the Xperia Z2 and Z3 series. The first users have already been notified that they can install an update to Android Marshmallow. People with Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact can expect an update notification in the short term.
Sony has some time ago beta versions of Android 6.0 Marshmallow available who could try out users. Probably now the feedback process on the basis of those versions, and can be started on the final rollout of the new Android version.
The first users have already received the update. Sony rolls out the update to devices with model number D6503, D6603 and D5803. The new firmware has been 23.5.A.570 version and contains Android 6.0.1. Marshmallow also the security updates of Android in February and the Camera 2.0.0 user interface.
At present there are no reports of Dutch users who have received the update, but that seems to be a matter of time.
