“Samsung supplies from 2017 OLED screens for iPhone” – NU.nl

That report anonymous sources Friday in front of the Korea Herald . Samsung Display, the beeldschermtak of the Korean company would supply 100 million 5.5-inch screens. Apple pays since converted approximately 2.30 billion euros.

OLED is a relatively new type of screen with black pixels really ‘outstanding’. That makes for very deep blacks.

It is not known whether also will have the smaller iPhone on an OLED screen, or only the Plus models get such type of display. Currently, the Apple Watch Apple is the only product that features an OLED screen.

The collaboration between the two competitors is not new. Samsung currently supplies all processors for the iPhone
