In the coming months the service Bliyoo is still being tested on a small scale and discussions with publishers over e-books and magazines that come in the offer, said spokesman Linda Eradus Bruna. Those interested can sign up by email to the test.
The goal is to have at launch 75 percent of the total Dutch e-book offerings on the service. The Central Book House, the distributor of all Dutch e-books, currently offers more than 35,000 digital books. The service Bruna must contain so going around 26,000 titles. The company also wants to include the latest titles in the subscription.
Bliyoo will compete to offer the e-book service Bibliotheek.nl which more than 10,000 titles, and with Elly’s Choice, a lower level of service that each month ten e-books offered for 2.99 euros.
The monthly subscription fee of Bliyoo is not yet known. It still depends on the talks with publishers to establish a “reasonable fee” to authors whose books are offered.
Bliyoo could be used in any on Android and iOS devices and PCs. On e-readers, the service will not work. “The reason is that there are also magazines, and that can not be read on e-readers” Eradus says.
The service is being developed by the Baarnse company Push2Tablet that even though the digital book and magazine kiosk Tablisto made for Bruna. There can only be purchased separately titles and it is not possible to purchase a subscription
