Skype for Android installed over 500 million times – Overclockers

The Skype app for Android is very popular Microsoft scores more than 500 million installations. It is one of the handful of companies that can say that.

That Android Police reports today. Microsoft joins them in a row where previously only Google and Facebook are part of. Google counts several apps over 500 million installations on Android devices, such as Google Drive and Google Maps. Facebook has not only social networking app, but also allow the successful WhatsApp Messenger in the Play Store.

In 2011, Skype has been bought by Microsoft. That was the end of MSN Messenger, which Microsoft was replaced by Skype. Currently we are working on a web version, so you no longer need software or Apps to video call for free
