Apple grabs lion’s share profit on smartphones in Q4 2014 – Telecompaper

(Operational) profit from the sale of smartphones worldwide was in the final three months of last year 21.2 billion dollars. That means an increase of 31 percent year on year, according to a recent study by Strategy Analytics.

Apple picked according to the survey in Q4 2014 89 percent of the total profits versus 71 percent a year earlier. Android saw its share of profits within a year decline of 29 percent to eleven percent. According to Strategy Analytics knew platforms BlackBerry and Microsoft does not share in the profits.

A recent study by IDC showed that Android last year, 80 percent of the market for smartphone clerk versus 78.7 percent in 2013. The market share of iOS is declining, just as BlackBerry and Windows Phone.
