Brein removes Popcorn sites – Telegraaf.nl

Brein has spent the past six weeks Dutch websites taken offline when the illegal streaming program Popcorn Time was offered. Stichting Brein says on its website that a settlement was reached with the identified site holders

“This means a withdrawal statement with penalty and payment of an amount intended to meet the amount of which depends on the circumstances of the case, “reads the message. It would go to sites hosted in the Netherlands, including popcorn-time.eu, popcorntimefilms.nl and popcorntime.nl. On these sites has recently notified of Brain. It explains why the sites are offline.

According to Brain encourages Popcorn Time “illegal use and makes it itself uses illegal online supply of, among other films and television series. The disappearance of the sites would have no effect on the operation of Popcorn Time in the Netherlands, but the availability in the Netherlands.

Uploading copyrighted material in the Netherlands was already illegal, but since April applies a download ban prohibiting the download of such material from illegal sources
