Hundreds of psychotherapists and psychiatrists refuse to sign health contracts, because that way they are not tied to maximum fees and do not suffer from the ‘interference’ of health insurers. Writes that Volkskrant today.

The therapists are annoyed that insurers, if there is a contract is concluded, interfere with their practice and the content of the treatment. As lay health insurance or for example a particular treatment technique may or may not be used, and they demand that is measured or treatment does have an effect.

A spokesman for Menzis says in the Volkskrant that the controls have to

“We have to. We have to see to it the commission that the money is spent legally and efficiently. That requires supervisor NZA of us. So we need to check whether there was a referral from your GP and whether the treatment would have been effective. “

The Volkskrant bases include a group of psychotherapists who have gathered on the web site Care for Quality. This group boycott or a number of insurers, or all insurers. People who receive treatment at such a therapist, get a bill that can be submitted to the insurers. The patient is still three-quarters covered.

There is also a group of eighty to two hundred psychiatrists who no longer has concluded contracts. They handle so only people who pay the bills all by itself. This group has partially collected on the website devrijepsych.nl. They will have no “burden” more controls
