Significantly more mobile data verstookt during the turn of the year – Telecompaper

KPN, Vodafone and T-Mobile all reported a considerable increase in mobile data traffic during the new year. During the Old and the New was the traffic on the KPN network, 40 percent higher than on a normal day. The data traffic on the mobile network, peaked at half past one in the new year’s night.

Customers of Vodafone used between 18.00 hours Saturday and 04.00 pm Sunday at about 58 terrabyte. During the turn of the year last year was 30 terrabyte. Like at KPN, was the peak at 00:30, when 25,9 gigabyte per second was verstookt.

The network of T-Mobile during the turn of the year 41% more data processed than the year before. The cities with the most traffic were during the turn of the year; Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Den Haag, Utrecht, Eindhoven, Tilburg, Breda, Haarlem, Almere and Arnhem. Amsterdam was again the most traffic.

KPN reports that in 2010, more than 23 million text messages were sent, versus three million in 2017. The number of phone calls during the turn of the year dropped by 4.4 million, a slight downward trend. The past few years was that around 5 million calls.
