Apple joins the Partnership on AI. That is a research group of techgiganten like Amazon, Facebook, Google and Microsoft, which focus on the responsible development of artificial intelligence. This allows the members of the group a company off of the top of the list prominent who were absent.

When the non-profit organization last september was established, has shown many that there are a few prominent companies were missing. Apple was one of them, as well as Intel, Baidu, and Twitter. The purpose of Partnership on AI has to be high-level discussion on the development of artificial intelligence. Participating companies include Amazon, DeepMind, Facebook, Google, IBM and Microsoft. The teams of the participants do not work together to artificial intelligence, but talk about a standard to be potentially harmful consequences for the mankind in check.

Prominent figures such as Stephen Hawking and Elon Musk warn namely for the development of artificial intelligence. They call it, if development is not carefully done, a potentially large threat to humanity. The Partnership wants those warnings seriously, and that is why open dialogue is stimulated.

Part of the group is under a board of supervision, which is formed by six representatives of the participating companies. In addition, there are six independent members, all with a background in artificial intelligence. They check the activities of the affiliated companies.
