Batteries for smartphones should be safer – NOS

The safety standards for batteries in smartphones not meet, says the American authority for consumer products. According to the authority, the industry must the batteries safer to prevent them on fire, like the Samsung Galaxy Note 7.

“Consumers should not have to have to ask whether their phone is dangerous”, let the agency know. The consumer protection authority refers to the fiasco with Samsung, that 2.5 million devices terugriep because they are a fire hazard.

Research from the South Korean telecommunications company showed the aircraft catch fire by short circuit in the lithium-ion battery. The safety standard for that kind of batteries is by the industry itself set up and, since 2011, not adjusted.
