Tele2 has decided to say goodbye to all customers who have an outdated smartphone that does not yet support 4G. Tele2 customers after February 1, a subscription, or renew will need to have a 4G smartphone, otherwise they can not use the Tele2 network.
Tele2 has been active for several years as a telecom provider, but since more than a year, the provider also has a 4G network. For the other legacy networks, 2G and 3G, bought the company capacity in at T-Mobile, that is a lot more expensive than the home network, and therefore want to Tele2 there as soon as possible.
According to the provider is now, the time has come to support the old networks go down, as from 1 February customers are more connected, have an outdated smartphone without 4G support. That means that Tele2 within a year or two can stop with the purchase of network capacity to T-Mobile.
Tele2 said in a response to focus on customers who wish to make use of a 4G network with fast internet, and large databundels, customers who purely want to call and text will not fit (more) the telco provider and for them, Tele2 may not be the best provider. All other providers continue the legacy networks still run.
