Sony reveals new camera sensor, with super slow-motion function – GSM Helpdesk Netherlands

Super slow motion

A camera is that videos can record with a frame rate of 1000 frames per second for normal applications, but it offers unique possibilities for a smartphone. When a video with 1000 frames per second is recorded and then at a normal speed of 30 to 60 frames per second is played back, creates ‘super slow motion’. That way it is possible, for example to a falling object in thousands of pieces, disintegrate, crack up at the level of detail in the picture.

Until now, the smartphone-impossible to get many images in one second to capture. Sony has found a solution for this by the smartphone camera with their own memory, where these images temporarily can be saved. During and after the video recording, the images processed by the image processor of the camera to then be stored in the memory of a smartphone. Direct storage of videos with 1000 frames per second is impossible because the links between the camera and the memory here is too slow for it.

Because the new camera sensor from Sony so quickly, the camera can also be in a thousandth of a second to take a picture. Fast moving objects such as, for example, a past raging high-speed train can be that way still sharp and without ‘bewegingswaas’ be photographed.

Mobile World Congress

Sony has still no name revealed for the new camera sensor is used, but has already hinted that the camera sensor with a resolution of 21.2-megapixel. Introductions from the past show that Sony often components just before big events are revealed to be used in devices that during large events are presented. With the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona at the end of February for the door, it is obvious that the camera sensor that Sony has today revealed will be used in one or multiple smartphones that Sony at the end of this month to present.
