“Russia was spying West via Windows leak ‘- Telegraaf.nl

Russian hackers have since 2009 used a vulnerability in almost all versions of Windows since Vista to spy. Western governments, academics and NATO Reported that security iSight Partners

Computers targets were infected by emailing them infected PowerPoint files. By opening this malware was installed which hackers gained access to the computers in question.

ISight think the hackers are Russian language because of references in the progammeercode of malware. The targets, in addition to Western governments also people in Ukraine denote this. The attack is called by the company Operation Sand Worm, a reference to the Dune books by author Frank Herbert. The addresses of servers from which the attacks were carried out, namely also refer to this work.
