Uber app will develop from Amsterdam – NU.nl

This reports the Financieele Dagblad (FD) Thursday. The company has taken over this five app developers and designers of five Moop.me that include the Reader app built for NRC Handelsblad. There is no question of a takeover.

Moop.me been working since 2009 with Uber and also helped the Spotify integration of the app. Amsterdam will mainly be working on the mobile app. Moop.me founder Jelle Prince will lead the Amsterdam design department. The American Conrad Whelan is responsible for technical development.

“It is not a cost, we would have gone to India,” said Uber CEO Thuan Pham against the newspaper. However, the move to Europe will ensure that the taxi app less to have to compete programming talent with other major tech companies in Silicon Valley.
