Sports and disasters dominate Facebook in 2014 – PC World

In 2014, we have it all together especially on sports and disasters, according to a year-end summary of Facebook. Worldwide, the most discussed topic the World Cup. Then we talk most often about the outbreak of the Ebola virus.

In the third place of the most discussed topics finish the elections in Brazil. Then follows the death of actor and comedian Robin Williams, in fourth place.

The Ice Bucket Challenge takes fifth place, where users of social media threw a bucket of ice cold water over them to the ALS muscle to draw attention. Especially celebrities who did, are widely discussed and shared. Think of George W. Bush, Bill Gates and the team at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Air crash

On the following six the Gaza conflict, in seventh place both air disasters of Malaysia Airlines. In March disappeared a Boeing 777, whose wreckage still not been found. On July 17 took place the plane crash with the MH17 device. On the eighth place finish the Super Bowl, the bombastic American Football Final which is held annually in the United States.

The ninth place is occupied by the shooting incident Ferguson, where the dark, unarmed teenager Michael Brown was shot by a white policeman. Once this was acquitted, was protesting and rioting broke out. Facebook closes his list with the Winter Olympics. The sporting event that took place finishes in Russia in tenth place.
